We’ve Been Busy Revolutionizing Medical Simulation Training
Well, it’s been an eventful few months. We’re working very hard to bring the PerSim™ to you in the coming weeks. Not only does that include writing code and getting the hardware working, we also have to develop business agreements, figure out how to package the system so that not only does arrive on your door safely, but you can also move it to different training events with the peace of mind that your simulator will be safe and sound. So, lots of little details to go, but the list is getting shorter!
I want to give you a peek behind the curtain and show you what we’re working on. So, here’s a quick tour:
CONTROLLER SOFTWARE:
We’re putting the final touches on our controller software. It will run on a hand-held tablet freeing, instructors of the need to sit behind a computer. Not only does this software run the simulation, it allows the instructor to create and edit scenarios. Using a visual and drag-and-drop interface, we’re focused on making the use of the software as simple, intuitive, flexible and powerful as possible. You’ll be able to set vital signs on our monitor software (see below), add in sounds such as voices, lung sounds and monitor alarms. You will also be able to customize the animations to represent different disease states.

MONITOR (DEFIBRILLATOR)
No simulation system is complete with a monitor system. We’ve created a system, based on commonly used monitor / defibrillation systems, that accurately replicates the use of monitors in patient care. Not only does it do vital signs, but accurately shows a myriad of cardiac rhythms, including all those necessary for ACLS training. We’ve also included defibrillation , cardioversion and pacing to the monitor, complete with the necessary controls allowing you to train on the “knobology” of operating today’s state-of-the-art monitor / defibrillators.
ANIMATIONS
We’re working to bring you a terrific suite of initial animations that will cover many of the key conditions trained and tested in the NREMT-P curriculum. We’ve got respiratory distress, chest pain, abdominal pain, a stroke and a seizure. Plus, features will allow you to customize the appearance of the animation to make provide even more flexibility in your scenarios. Check out our video on the About page.
PACKAGING
Something so simple as a box… but is it enough? We want to make sure that you have the flexibility to customize your PerSim system and store / transport it in cases that make sense for you. We are currently evaluating different storage solutions with ruggedized cases and intend to offer you a choice so you can do what works best for you. Best part? This is included in the price.
EARLY ADOPTERS NEEDED!
Are you interested in getting an early version of the PerSim™ and help us test and develop the system and make it the very best simulator for pre-hospital providers? Head over here and tell us!
WRAP UP
Well, that’s it for now. Keep an eye on our site for new announcements. And, of course, if you have any questions, feel free to contact us!
